CT Trails Day: Look for Bobolinks – Saturday, June 2, 2018

From 1:30 to 2:30 pm, join us for an easy nature walk at Auerfarm State Park Scenic Reserve in Bloomfield.

Meet at the parking area at the intersection of Auer Farm Road & Cider Hill Road. (Auer Farm Road is off Simsbury Road/Route 185.) We’ll climb to the high orchard to experience great views of the surrounding hills. Then we’ll descend to the farm fields, hopefully viewing Bobolinks, a grassland nesting bird of special concern in Connecticut.

Total distance approximately 1.0 mile. Dogs not permitted. This event is participating in the CT DEEP 2018 Great Park Pursuit challenge. Rain cancels. Free. Registration not required, but we appreciate you telling us you’re coming on Facebook.

Co-sponsored by the Wintonbury Land Trust and Friends of Auerfarm Scenic Reserve. For more information on this and other Connecticut Trails Day events across the state, go to #CTTrailsDay
