Earth Day at LaSalette Park – May 3, 2014

On May 3, Earth Day at LaSalette Park will be celebrated from 1:00-4:00 at 130 Mountain Ave, Bloomfield, Ct. GPS: 41°50’4.51″N, 72°45’43.64″W. We will celebrate green communities with exhibits on energy and growing green vegetables, games and crafts; fun for the whole family.
“This event is a great way to celebrate the amazing natural resources in Bloomfield, connect people with nature, and introduce participants to one of the most beautiful views in Bloomfield.” -Doris Johnson, CT Dept. of Energy & Environmental Protection.
A pre-event bird walk will meet at the Oliver Filley House in the Park at 8:00. 1:30 Scavenger Hunt, 2:30 Discovery Walk and 3:30 LaSalette Trail Walk.
There will be free door prizes and sunflowers. Cyril, The Sorcerer (magician) will promote energy conservation and environmental stewardship.
Come, Explore and Play. In case of rain, cancellations will be posted on the web site in the morning of May 3; rain date is Sunday May 4th .
