Come help us celebrate a year of accomplishments: Stout’s Fields, Lisa Lane Community Farm, Thrall Potato Barn and Farm, LaSalette Trail and other volunteer coordinated activities of the 2011 year.

The Wintonbury Land Trust and the Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection (DEEP) and will co-sponsor a FREE Family Event on September 10, 2011 from
10:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. at Lisa Lane Farm, Bloomfield. Everyone is invited to spend the day outdoors participating in family activities.
Rain date: Saturday, September 17th, same time, same place.

East Granby Land Trust and The East Granby Library will be presenting John Root speaking about Edible Wild Plants of the Northeast on July 14th at the East Granby Library, 7pm.

The June 26 board meeting has been delayed. Two grants proposal results are expected by end of June. Next board meeting will be July 6 at 7:00 pm. See blog for meeting notes. Agenda posted by July 3.

June 18: “Get Inspired” Garden Tour 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM, rain or shine, featuring five gardens in northwest Bloomfield, plus the 4-H Education Center at Auer Farm.

Get Inspired! JOIN US in helping to preserve two important properties: a 10-acre urban farm (Lisa Lane Farm), and 13 acres of grassland next to Penwood State Park. Your participation in the Garden Tour will support the preservation of these properties. For more information, call 860.216.0806.

PLEASE REGISTER ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT AT THE EDUCATION CENTER AT AUERFARM, $30 donation per person.

NOTE: ALL PARTICIPANTS BEGIN THE GARDEN TOUR AT THE 4-H EDUCATION CENTER AT AUER FARM, 158 AUER FARM ROAD, OFF SIMSBURY ROAD (RT. 185) IN BLOOMFIELD. GARDEN TOUR BOOKS (YOUR TICKET AND GUIDE FOR THE EVENT) WILL BE DISTRIBUTED HERE. While there, we invite you to wander the gardens of Auer Farm and view paintings of the farm on display.
