Saturday, September 28th, 2:30 P.M. Stout Family Fields Dedication

The Wintonbury Land Trust has succeeded in conserving the 13.1 acres of The Stout Family Fields adjacent to Penwood Park, our first acquisition through purchase. We own the land and the DEEP owns the easement. It was a substantial undertaking and represents only the second one in Connecticut where the DEEP partnered with a land trust in this fashion. It occurred because of the generous support of the Stout family, members of the Land Trust and neighborhood donors, the Natural Resources Conservation Service of the USDA, the Bafflin Foundation, and the DEEP.

These two magnificent fields, which give access to Penwood Park, will be preserved in perpetuity as grassland, which is the most at-risk eco-system in the state.
The dedication ceremony will be held on
Saturday, September 28 at 2:30, rain or shine,
in the fields at the top of Stone Hill Road.
