The Town of Bloomfield and the Wintonbury Land Trust held the first of two public discussions about the future of local farmland on February 1 from 7:00-9:00 at the Marilyn Michaelson Senior Center
300 Park Avenue Bloomfield, CT. The meetings are part of the Farmland Viability Grant received by the Bloomfield Planning, the Open Space Subcommittee and the Land Trust and conclusions of the study will be published as an addendum to the Town’s Plan of Conservation and Development. The students of Conway School of Landcape Design ran the meeting and will be locating and GIS mapping open space and farmland in Bloomfield. They will also be looking at criteria for evaluating farmland and making recommendations to the Famland Viability team. Your support for local foods, farming and trails is very much appreciated.
