East Coast Greenway Biking

The East Coast Greenway 50 mile bike ride on Sept. 19 starts at Yale School of Engineering at 8:30. Riding at a easy to moderate pace the bikes should arrive at Simsbury Airport at 1PM. Bus will leave from Simsbury Airport at 7:00, $20 for bus.

Hamilton Sundstrand Sustainability Grant

WLT has received the Hamilton Sundstrand Sustainability Grant for the Thrall Project. Plans to continue trail work to connect the farm road to the wetlands path are in process for this fall. Call Dale Bertoldi at 860-243-1749 for more information.

Coverts Coordinator at WLT

Vikki Reski completed the program for the Coverts Project which was presented in four days at the Great Mountain Forest’s Yale Forestry Camp. The Project is a forest wildlife education program sponsored by Uconn extention System, Ct. Forest and Park, highstead and DEP Wildlife and Forestry Departments. Vikki will be working on stewardship for the Schaffer Preserve and on forest stewardship outreach.
